Frequently asked questions

Does a receipt replace an invoice?

No. A receipt proves payment between the parties; the obligation to issue an invoice depends on the activity and on who the client is.

Does a receipt need to be signed?

Yes. Without the signature of the person who received the payment, the receipt loses its value as proof of payment.

Can I sign the receipt electronically?

Yes. An electronic signature is valid between the parties that accept it (MP 2.200-2/2001, art. 10, § 2).
